The University of London Master of Laws (LLM), Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip) in Law and Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert) in Law are world-class, flexible postgraduate laws programmes. The academic direction at postgraduate level is provided by Queen Mary and University College London. There are 2 sessions available in May and in October.
Students accepted to the Postgraduate Laws programmes start at three points of entry, namely at PGCert, PGDip or LLM. Your point of entry is determined by your entry qualifications but does not set your exit award. It is your choice to leave the programme with a PGCert, PGDip or/and LLM – or all three! You can collect all three qualifications, provided you complete within a maximum of five years.
- You are eligible for the LLM award upon completion of 16 modules from 4 courses (5 towards PG Cert, 5 towards PG Dip and an additional 6).
- PG Diploma Laws: You are eligible for this award upon completion of 10 modules from up to 4 courses (5 towards PG Cert and an additional 5).
- PG Certificate Laws: All students are eligible for this award upon completion of 5 modules. You may get this in addition to your LLM degree or you may have to do this first if you do not have a traditional academic background. You apply for this, progress to PG Dip and eventually LLM.
You may choose a specialisation or keep it general. If you choose to specialise, you need to study a minimum number of courses or modules within your specialist pathway. The number depends on the qualification you are working towards.
You may avail the following specialisations:
- Commercial and Co-orporate Law
- Human Rights Law
- International Business Law
- International Dispute Resolution
- Public and International Law
- Public Law
- Intellectual Property
